So what are we going to learn anyway?

I am Money Wise is a 2-day interactive workshop that covers a foundational knowledge of financial skills needed to head out into the world.

Day 1 of the Workshop covers:

Banking check writing, reconciling, hidden bank fees, etc.
Savings – choosing the right savings account, IRAs, 401Ks
Credit Cards – interest rates, laws about credit cards
Credit Scores – information that affects their credit score, what is affected by their credit score and credit building

Day 2 of the Workshop covers:

Credit Card Debt - how to avoid credit card debt, steps to get out of credit card debt, laws about credit card debt
Loans – what interest rates mean, repayment of loans, differences in types of loans, student loans, car loans
Budgeting – how to create a realistic budget, needs vs. wants, why budgeting helps

 

Participants in the Workshop will learn the basic tools and information they need in order to head out into the world – whether to college or straight into the workforce -  with confidence and a positive attitude towards money.

Each student will receive their own binder to work in during the course of the 2 days that is theirs to keep.  All of the information that will be covered is in the binder – a reference tool for the future.
